Brendan Bradley
UC BERKELEY GRADUATE | K-12 Tutor
K-8 Multiple Subjects
The first 8 years of school are the formative building blocks of a child's learning - this period develops mindful habits for your student’s educational career. I offer confidence-building instruction in setting goals, reinforcing study habits, and developing intellectual curiosity. Student-centered sessions, developing interests, and targeting specific needs to help produce the most effective learner possible.
The main focus of my instruction is quickly spotting strengths, closing gaps, and providing goal-achieving and entertaining lessons for every level of student. I designed Oakland's Common Core English essay rubric.
See my featured collaborative curriculum published on Education for Democracy in the Digital Age. This experience assures your student excels in current assignments and learns life-long rhetorical skills.
Common Core has been the name of the game from K-12th grade standardized testing for the last several years and relies heavily on analytical writing. Your student will be guided to exceed in class, and also provide well-informed test-prep curriculum. We’ll quickly start the process of introducing, developing and ensuring mastery of these skills to ensure testing success in an increasingly competitive college admissions environment.
Admission Essay Prep
Admissions requirements to selective high schools and colleges require exemplary
essays - I provide templates, discussion topics, and implement rhetorical skills to boost the odds of acceptance.
PSAT, SAT, ACT, HSPT, AP,
CAHSEE, GMAT, CSETS/CBEST for Teacher Candidates, and Higher Ed Assessments.
Test Prep
I teach in both group and private lessons. I often incorporate film, literature and art into sessions, tailored to specialized
needs or interests, whether it be foreign language requirements, business or travel. These methods exponentially increase comprehension and
communication and make
classes more enjoyable.

9-12 Grade ELA
ELA is short for English Language Arts. There has been an exceptional decline in reading and writing skills in our schools. I’ve solidified and earned an adeptness for instructing students to bridge large gaps in ELA standards. With over a
decade of experience, I’m able to reach students at all levels, from those in primary education to those pursuing graduate studies.
